Photojournalism
Photos are a powerful medium for communication. We have all heard the phrase "one photo is worth one thousand words". This is especially true when photos are able to tell stories on their own. This is why I believe that photography can be a priceless supplement to an interesting story. I strive to take photos that stir immediate emotion, curiosity, and thought upon first glance. I aim to document raw emotions, fresh moments, and expressive people on camera--all while hoping to capture one shot that tells a story.

Love Rally
November 9, 2016 As President Donald Trump was announced as the winner of the polarizing 2016 Presidential Election in the early hours of November 9, students at Millard North High School organized a rally to promote love and solidarity on campus. As a diverse array of students gathered, I aimed to capture the intense emotions of anger, fear, love, care, and laughter on camera.

It is really important to show that even though there are times where people may feel afraid or unsafe, there’s still love and there’s still a strong force that is unifying our community.

Women's March on Omaha
January 21, 2016 After President Trump's inauguration, women in Omaha and across the world gathered for the annual Women's March. Since the march took place during the night, I utilized various lightening setting on my camera to capture stronger images. The bright posters create a sharp contrast with the dark night with hardly any editing. In the midst of the marchers, I was able to capture beautiful moments of inspiration and diversity coming together.

The amount of people who showed up today is really inspiring. It shows how we can be united, even in the face of such adversity. Girls and women are powerful and resilient, and we will fight for what we believe in.

Summer 2016
I was part of a local initiative to get young adults in Omaha involved in community service. One of my roles was to document the experience so the photos can be used for marketing in the following years. I focused the camera on student moments of excitement and collaboration.

India
When I took a trip in the December of 2015 to visit my family in India, I saw unknown areas of beauty unlike anything I had ever seen in the United States. As a personal journalistic project, I wanted to document the unique and dynamic moments, areas, and people of India. From portraits to landscapes, here are some of my best shots from the beautiful nation of India.
